How we started.

Almehn started in 2016. Before that, years with another contractor, and that is where we hit the ceiling. Nothing was wrong there. Everything was standard. That was the problem. Fitout in Dubai is not hard to get wrong. Timelines slip. Costs inflate.

We wanted the freedom to fix things our own way: to run operations smarter, to use technology wherever it saves a day or a phone call, and to plan the different parts of a client's requirement as connected work.

So we started at the bottom of our own company, on site in work clothes, doing labourers' work alongside the labourers. The business side we knew already. The site we wanted to learn the same way, hands on, at the level where the work actually happens, so that when we managed a job we would know what we were asking of the people building it.

Both worlds stayed with us, the business side of a project and the labour side of it, and between them a practical education in productivity and efficiency. It is also where we learned that a crew works better for someone who has done the work, and that a site runs on that more than it runs on instructions.

Dubai shaped the ambition. The city was evolving fast as a business hub, and companies and investors arriving here needed their spaces designed, built and managed. We wanted an enabling role in that shift, and over the years, across different sectors, that is the work we have done. Through all of it the same lesson kept repeating: clients want the plug and play experience. They want the problem solved and the space handed over working. So that is what we built around. We take on the headaches.

That is still the work: fitout, civil and MEP, reinstatement and ongoing maintenance. That is why our customers come back, and recommend us to others.
